Laura is Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as well as Registered Dance Movement Therapist who has worked in the mental health field for 7 years. Laura recently moved to Richmond, VA after being an LMHC practicing in Newburyport, MA for over 2 years. Laura completed her B.A in Applied Dance and Psychology from the University of Tampa in 2016, and her M.A in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Dance Movement Therapy from Lesley University in 2018. Laura has worked in numerous clinical settings, including private group practice, Community Mental Health and intensive outreach teams. Laura has worked with a wide range of clientele, including children, adolescents, families and young adults with varying diagnoses. Laura is dedicated to supporting her clients and families throughout their therapeutic process of healing and growth.
Laura is experienced in working with children, adolescents, young adults and family systems. Laura focuses on a variety of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, PTSD as well as grief and bereavement. When working with individuals, Laura’s treatment aims to help clients make progress towards their goals in therapy while supporting them through the process. Laura enjoys using a client-centered approach and is experienced in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques. Laura is a compassionate and committed therapist who strives to create a warm, non-judgmental, safe space for clients and their families while addressing a multitude of needs with compassion and a sprinkle of humor.
