Dina Negatu

Dina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Virginia, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since 2009, she has been deeply committed to working alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s many challenges.

With genuine compassion, Dina supports children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a variety of difficulties—including relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and grief and loss. She also finds great fulfillment in working with first- and second-generation immigrants, helping them explore identity, cultural adjustment, and intergenerational connections with sensitivity and care.
Dina believes that healing begins in the safe, trusting space created through a strong therapeutic relationship. She is dedicated to fostering a warm, collaborative environment where clients feel truly seen, heard, and valued.
Her approach is integrative and client-centered. She skillfully blends Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MB-CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Family-Focused Therapy (FFT), while embracing a strengths-based and person-centered perspective. Together with her clients, she empowers them to set meaningful goals and build resilience that lasts.

Outside of her work, Dina enjoys reading, staying active, traveling, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with her husband and two daughters.
