Psychological Testing

Psychological evaluations may be completed to answer specific questions about an individual’s intellectual or emotional functioning, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning, or to help with educational planning and placement.  A psychological evaluation at Discovery Counseling and Consulting typically involves a clinical interview, the review of any available records, the administration of a variety of psychological tests and measures, and a feedback meeting to explain the findings and recommendations.

Our psychologists provide evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults using the most up-to-date methods available.  We perform evaluations for:

  • Emotional and Behavioral Concerns
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Learning Difficulties
  • Private School and Gifted Program Placement
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

The cost for a psychological evaluation varies depending on the questions to be addressed and the tests that are administered.  Some of these costs may be covered by health insurance when the evaluation is determined to be medically necessary.  Evaluations that are completed primarily to assist in educational planning and placement are generally not covered by insurance.  The fee for an evaluation will be determined prior to the administration of any tests.
